TELEHEALTH

We have launched Telehealth, a Physio online service to provide Physiotherapy consultations over video chat.

Even before the impact of COVID-19, there has been a growing consumer demand for access to video-consultation services provided by Physiotherapists. Given the COVID-19 virus’ impact, we are discounting our standard fees for Telehealth appointments to ensure our clients don’t fall behind in their treatment.

To access this service, you will simply need a computer or smart device with an internet connection and camera. We will send you a text message with a secure ID login and access to a private video consultation with your preferred Physio. We’re here to help you on your journey to recovery to get you moving again, whether that be in a practice, or via video if you can’t get to a practice.

How To Book:

  • 1. Simply call Motion Health Albany on (09) 477 3750
  • 2. Book in a time for your consultation which can be short, medium or long depending on your situation.
  • 3. Once you have made your booking, payment can be made over the phone.
  • 4. You will be provided with a unique meeting ID. At your allocated appointment time, enter this ID into the field below.

  • 5. Click 'Join Consultation' to be connected to your Physio.

Tip: Don't forget to check your video and microphone are working prior to your appointment to ensure a smooth consultation.

Our Practice

Who we are

We provide physiotherapy, massage, clinical Pilates and exercise and rehab services to Albany and surrounding suburbs. We have one-on-one and semi-private classes and because our services are delivered by physiotherapists you can claim them on private health insurance with extras cover.

Why we're different

A "quick-fix" for your pain or injury might sound good, but over time is proven to be inconvenient, costly and ineffective in comparison to taking preventative measures. Our unique clinical approach, Results4Life®, keeps you on track towards optimal lifelong physical health.

Our guarantee

We are committed to your satisfaction and delivering the very best in physiotherapy care, customer service and outcomes. If you are not 100% satisfied with your experience at Motion Health, we will refund your money and deliver your next session free.

Our Service Offering

Physiotherapy

Whether you have back pain, neck pain, flexibility or mobility issues, our physios at Back In Motion can help resolve your pain and improve the quality of your life.

Find out why physiotherapy is a GP's most recommended health professional today.

What can Back In Motion physio do for me?

We'll use the latest clinical research and physio equipment to develop a personal treatment plan to help you recover for your specific condition.

You don’t need a GP's referral to see a physio, and often we'll work as part of a team to plan and manage treatment for your specific condition or injury.

How will a Back In Motion physio assess my injury?

We'll assess your condition to diagnose the problem and focus on how to help you heal with tangible tools like Results4Life®

What sort of treatments do Back In Motion physios use?

Treatments include:

- Exercise prescription
- Postural analysis and correction
- Soft tissue massage/mobilization
- Dry needling
- Management of lifestyle issues such as desk set up, pillow and gym programs
- Prescription of aids such as crutches, orthotics and braces

What else does Back In Motion offer?

We’re a one-stop shop for allied health, and also offer related health services such as clinical/reformer Clinical Exercise, remedial massage, exercise rehab and more.

We work in partnership with you to identify how we can resolve your pain and condition, and then how to heal you and get you stronger to ensure it does not happen again.

Acupuncture

Our qualified traditional acupuncturists at Motion Health can help decrease your aches and pains and enhance your body’s healing with acupuncture and cupping.

Acupuncture targets meridians (channels or pathways of energy) in the body which are linked to specific internal organs and systems. During an acupuncture session, very fine needles are inserted into meridian points in the body to redistribute flows of energy and help bring your body into balance, harmony, improve your health, reduce pain and help with its natural healing process.

Podiatry

Whether you have plantar fasciitis, an ingrown toenail, bunion or problems with your gait, we can help.

Our podiatrist is trained to assess, diagnose and treat foot and lower limb problems to help you look after your feet, improve your posture or help you to manage foot complications related to medical conditions such as diabetes.

Clinical Pilates

We offer individual and small group clinical Pilates classes taught by qualified professionals and physiotherapists. Unlike group classes at a gym, our approach to Pilates is clinically proven and specifically tailored to your needs. These tailored exercises target problem areas ensuring greater results and minimising the risk of injury re-aggravation.

You will use a combination of specialised Pilates equipment including reformers and trapeze table complimented by floor-based exercises depending on your needs. This brings about better targeting and resistance as you progress in your Pilates program.

Exercise and Rehab

Whether you have lower back pain, neck pain or a shoulder injury, exercise rehabilitation can help. Our exercise programs can help with increasing fitness, weight loss, injury rehabilitation, endurance training or strengthening, in a safe way that minimises risk of injury.

Our qualified staff use the latest clinical research and physio equipment to develop a personal exercise plan to help you improve flexibility, mobility, and strength.

Remedial Massage

Whether you’re wanting to loosen tight muscles, soothe your body or simply relax, Back In Motion offers a range of massage services.

There are many places that offer massage these days, but few offer highly-qualified and trained physios with extensive knowledge of the human body to help your body heal.

Why should I have a remedial massage at Back In Motion?

We take a tailored approach, targeting key areas of your body chosen by you and your physio and it’ll be completed in a safe and professional environment.

Our highly-experienced physios have spent more than four years at university learning about human anatomy and biomechanics. We know your body and can identify the causes of aches, pains and soreness, ensuring a better result every time.

What remedial massage services are offered at Back In Motion?

We offer a range of massage services including remedial massage, sports therapy massage and deep tissue massage, so you can benefit from qualified physios and their extensive knowledge of the human body.

What are the benefits of regular remedial massage?

Massage is beneficial to the body in many ways, both physically (tissue manipulation) and emotionally (relaxation). A regular massage can provide check ups with your physio, treat niggles, prevent new injuries/pain and help with maintenance.

Sporting clubs, athletes, and massage devotees see our expert physios and therapists for a reason: because we know your body and can identify the causes of aches, pains, and soreness, ensuring a better result every time.

Saskia joined the Motion Health support team in August this year. She will happily greet you and take care of all your administration needs.

After being badly injured herself last year, Saskia knows how it feels to have an injury take over every aspect of your life.

Being thrown out of her active lifestyle and circus training (trapeze, silks and lyra) took a big toll on her at the time. After attending physiotherapy every few days for a year, she decided she wanted to work in an environment that helps people the same way her physio helped her - both physically and mentally.

Now she's back to full health focusing on her strength training and stamina so she can return to the world of circus.

She understands how much a smile and friendly manner can brighten someone's day - you will never see her without one!

Since returning back to work 6 years ago I have enjoyed working at reception, meeting and greeting clients and hearing about their recovery process.

Originally from North Wales, I met my husband while here on holiday. I have been living here for the 25 years and really love it.  We have two girls and they keep us really busy, we particularly enjoy walking, reading, camping and weekends away with friends.

I’m looking forward to meeting new clients and getting to know everyone at Motion Health.

Dr. Ivy Yang is a NZ qualified acupuncturist and TCM practitioner.
She is able to converse in English, and Chinese. Ivy had 8 years full time training at a medical school in China, and then had 3 years of clinical experience as she worked in a hospital there. She then emigrated with her partner to New Zealand.

Ivy is passionate and dedicated to improving your short term and long term well-being through acupuncture, acupressure, Tuina and Chinese herbal medicine. She has extensive experience for treating aches & pains, sports and work related injuries, stress, depression, women’s problems and other chronic & difficult disorders.

Along with acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Ivy uses a variety of techniques along with acupuncture treatments to help the energy to flow in the body, so the body can balance itself, prevent injuries, and to relax the muscle and tendons.

If you have any pain or internal symptoms, chronic or acute, try an acupuncture session with Ivy, you will get a better life! She will guide you through your healing journey by providing you with excellent care.

Ivy believes that “acupuncture facilitates the meridians and collaterals to allow the life force energy to flow around the body, but they also connect the major internal organs to various tissues and organs on the outer surface (or superficial portion) of the body. This provides the body with an overall organic integrity. When this system is out of balance, the body becomes painful or sick.”
